Kathy A. Seabrook, CMIOSH (UK), CSP (US) was one of two distinguished professionals selected by The American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) and Women in Safety Engineering (WISE) for the “Safety Leadership in the US, Internationally and in ASSE” panel presentation given on June 29 at the national ASSE Safety 2009 Professional Development Conference in San Antonio, Texas, US.

Seabrook, president of Global Solutions, Inc. (US) and Global Solutions International (UK), and past-ASSE president Margaret Carroll, P.E., CSP, of Margaret M. Carroll Company, LLC, shared their professional experiences in developing safety leadership skills and competencies in the national and international arenas at the conference, which was attended by 3,000 safety professionals from across the globe. Leveraging her background in the private sector, international and consulting, Seabrook discussed her career development, formation of her companies in the US and UK, involvement in national consensus standards development, as well as how those entering the profession can get involved locally and rise to national prominence with in ASSE and the safety profession.
